About
Hi, I'm Eddy Vinck. This is the person behind everything on this site.

I’m a senior software engineer at FrontValue, a consultancy in The Netherlands, where I’m also the designated AI Champion. I build user-facing products for the web and mobile.
I think of myself as a full-stack product engineer, which is less about the title than about where I’m useful. I do my best work on products I stand behind: I care what users actually want rather than which technical problem is the most interesting, I bring my own ideas and opinions to the table, and I spar with designers on 80/20 solutions so we focus on core needs, ship sooner, and keep time free for the next valuable thing. The technical details still matter to me, but the impact on the people using the thing is what I optimize for.
Past work spans a pension management platform, a real estate marketplace, and a long run of dynamic marketing websites. Clients often bring me onto their team specifically for deep React experience, and to help that team use it properly: configuration and training that keep the usual footguns out of reach after I’ve moved on. I use AI coding agents every day, and the skills I publish come straight out of that practice.
The work speaks for itself
Rather than telling you what I’m good at, here’s what I’ve shipped:
- The blog — practical write-ups on payments, AWS, tooling, and shipping side projects, written as I learned it
- Talks that started at local meetups and grew into international conference stages: JSNation, WeAreDevelopers World Congress, Code Europe, All Things Open and THAT Conference, in front of audiences up to 500 developers
- Projects — including the full story of building, launching, and sunsetting Blog Recorder, the SaaS I learned the most from because it had real paying users
- Agent skills I publish from my own repos and install everywhere I work
Technologies
What I reach for on my own projects, TypeScript end to end:
- Web: React on TanStack Start for anything new, Fastify when a standalone API earns its place, tRPC for type-safe application APIs, TanStack Query for server state, React Hook Form for ordinary forms
- Mobile: React Native with Expo
- Data: Drizzle ORM on PostgreSQL, with Zod or another runtime schema layer at every system boundary
- Repos: pnpm and Turborepo once a project holds more than one app or package
- Hosting: a managed VPS to start, and boring replaceable primitives like PostgreSQL and Docker over anything that locks me to one platform. Blog Recorder ran multi-cloud, serverless compute alongside a VPS web server, so I’ve seen both sides of that trade
Right now I’m not building a personal SaaS. My side-project time goes into experimenting with AI workflows, and maybe another product when inspiration strikes.
